Hello,
If you’re reading this post, it’s either because you intend to unsubscribe or because you’re curious about the reasons behind my departure from social media.
Let’s briefly recap what these platforms were originally meant for during their inception: In the realm of technology, a social network serves as a platform to connect diverse individuals and facilitate discussions on specific topics. In a way, social networks trace their origins back to early Internet forums, discussion groups, and chat rooms.
Until the COVID era, these services allowed people to engage with family, friends, and affinity groups. However, since 2023, social networks have taken a different trajectory, emphasizing uninteresting or sponsored content. The social aspect has all but disappeared, leaving only commercial interests at the forefront. We find ourselves inundated with irrelevant information that lowers the overall quality. Even when we try to share something interesting with our community, our messages often go unnoticed or get deleted without notification.
Given that my time is precious and I don’t want to waste it, I’ve decided to delete my social media accounts. Those who wish to reach out can still email me at universdj at hotmail.fr or leave a message on Hearthis.
The time I used to spend on social media will now be dedicated to improve the quality of my websites and exploring music production.

Les raisons pour lesquelles j’ai quitté les réseaux sociaux (version française)

Si vous lisez ce billet, c’est que vous avez l’intention de vous désinscrire ou que vous êtes curieux de connaître les raisons de mon désabonnement des réseaux sociaux.
Faisons un petit résumé de ce à quoi étaient destinés ces sites lors de leur création :
Dans le domaine des technologies, un réseau social consiste en un service permettant de regrouper diverses personnes afin de créer un échange sur un sujet particulier ou non. En quelque sorte, les réseaux sociaux trouvent leurs origines dans les forums, groupes de discussion et salons de chat introduits dès les premières heures d’Internet.
Jusque dans les années Covid, ces services permettaient d’échanger avec ses proches / amis / groupes d’appartenance.
Cependant depuis 2023, les réseaux ont pris une trajectoire opposée souhaitant mettre en avant des contenus sans intérêts ou sponsorisés. Le côté social a totalement disparu et seul le côté mercantile est priorisé. Nous sommes plongés dans un flot d’informations inutiles qui nivellent le niveau par le bas et lorsque l’on souhaite poster quelque chose d’intéressant à sa communauté, les messages ne sont pas relayés où tout simplement supprimés sans notification.
Vu que mon temps est précieux et que je ne veux pas en perdre, j’ai décidé de supprimer mes comptes. Ceux qui souhaitent me joindre peuvent toujours m’écrire à l’adresse universdj à hotmail.fr ou me laisser un petit mot sur Hearthis.
Le temps que je ne passerai plus sur les réseaux sociaux sera utilisé pour améliorer de mes sites internet et m’initier à la production de sons.
